| Our LOVE for Volkswagen Beetle and obstinate Dalmatians lives on! |

This is a late 70's scene. We
had a beautiful specimen in him. Carefully spaced spots and authentic
looking face.
That was our beloved Joey. Typical of Dalmatian, one day he ran across a fast moving taxi recklessly and broke his spin. We too broke our hearts to have lost such a good friend! |
| My "fishing" car of the late 70's and early 80's. Using a 4X4 vehicle then, or rather MPV for recreation in that era was unheard of. The Military Land Rover that we handled was reserved for conducting sales demonstration and frequently in the used Mines in Ampang. | ![]() |

This jalopy had trekked along more bunds on tin mines than the distance walked by an average man. In one incident, it even slided into a ditch but managed to extricate itself without external assistance. It had travel over unmarked grasslands and gone through tiger infested wetland bushes in Hilir Perak. Those were the glorious days and the many great fishing expeditions! This light weight contraption and the 15" treys. Bravo! "Uncle Yong" Back to the present, in our search for Waterfalls in undeveloped jungles, very often we had to probe into uncharted territory. If pampered aided by a vehicle, we would definitely use that contraption to do a "Man's" job, i.e.. probe right into the bushes on wheels. |

Anyway, common sense prevail, this jalopy is appropriate! It will take us off the paved road up till the part where the land is no longer level. for its wheels. Then the legs have to take over. This compromise is vital, the practice less risky and suit our style of venturing into untested places without aids and alone. |

In my search for a car in the 90's, this time I landed myself with the "Pink Lady". She had already won many hearts by her pinkish looks. The previous owner reluctantly parted with her convinced that I will take good care of her. There was a sex change and became the "Lady" became the "Wander Bug". All frills and unimportant components were removed to reduce chances of breakdowns in the wilderness or in strange land. Once again, this model of vehicle has proven itself to be a great utility vehicle. |
| Back to my spotted "friends". Now, we were not so fortunate to be blessed with the same good looking Dalmatians as we had before. In this country, there was too much of in-breeding. Neither do we want to pay handsomely for an import. We have a pair of them to provide company. | ![]() |

The Volkswagen Beetle and the Dalmatian simply complement one another. Walt Disney took fancy of the same kind of canines when they launched their 101 Dalmatians? Now was the coincidence a blessing? 1] The idea of the car was our own initiative 2] Though they had that fancy about Dalmatians and Volkwagen long before us! We combine the two! Incidentally remember Walt Disney's "Herbie" No 53? |
