Khong's Tuck Khoon's selection of tastes - prepared by

Hawkers  in and around Penang

I have looked through the net. There were so many sites on Penang Food and Hawkers cooking style. Most of them merely mentioned the name of food. e.g. Prawn Noodles followed by a description. I an sure many like me, would like to hear from you, your preferences of stalls.

So this page does that. Keep you informed of my choice. I would like to see other pages on the same subject so that I could link to them. Write to me, please!

Prices mentioned within were that of 2001. Now  with the hike in fuel prices, I need to go round for updates.

Links - with lists of hawkers names and locations. If you are looking for where to go? More info,

I am born and raised in Penang, just after war. Still thinking of the glorious days of Green Parrot and Shanghai Restaurants. Today, many web pages are about good food in Penang. Included in the list are Wan Ton Mee, Sar Hor Fan and Hainese Chicken Rice. Nothing against them being mentioned. In fact, I stayed in Campbell Street. Kwong Chow Coffee Shop serves the best Chicken Rice and Foo Heong served the best Hor Fun. Somehow, I feel that my list should be short and confined to those preparartion that are uniquely Penang.
